Chillax Festival Lounger

In some ways, a festival is the ultimate holiday. A life-changing experience, crammed into a few days, which transforms you from jaded commuter into free spirit, or opens your mind through art, music, poetry, performance.

  1. Burning Man

Each year, participants in the Burning Man Festival travel to the playa of Nevada’s Black Rock Desert to form a temporary city—a self-reliant community populated by performers, artists, free spirits, and more. An estimated 70,000 people from all over the world came to the 31st annual Burning Man to dance, express themselves, and take in the spectacle, themed this year as “Radical Ritual.”

At Burning Man, the community explores various forms of artistic self-expression, created in celebration for the pleasure of all participants. Participation is a key precept for the community – selfless giving of one's unique talents for the enjoyment of all is encouraged and actively reinforced. Some of these generous outpourings of creativity can include experimental and interactive sculpture, building, performance, and art cars among other media, often inspired by the yearly theme, chosen by organizers.

The survivalist happening’s 10 principles include radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort and, above all, participation. These 10 hippy commandments lead to a strong “city” where inhibitions are left at the gates and freakery courses along the dusty streets. A week of art, exhibitionism, parades and music climaxes with the incineration of the Man, a fitting end to a festival where flame-throwers regularly split the night sky.
